Shaded Cubism for Adults with Casey Temby

Casey Temby makes cubism super easy! In just a few quick steps and with a glass of wine, you could have a beautiful handmade artwork to hang in your own home. Bring a friend or make one to a unique Art Space workshop led by experienced and talented artist Casey Temby.

Cubism abandoned all concepts of traditional art. One of the central Cubist ideas was to reimagine how to depict a modern 3D world on a flat surface.

Participants will create their own 3D still-life drawing and represent multiple viewpoints simultaneously on a flat surface. The use of shading, tone and composition will be demonstrated so that your piece can embrace energy and emotion, as in the Cubist essence.

Participants will firstly learn to draw with their eye, then learn to switch on the creative brain to abstract the drawing.

Suitable for: Adult beginners or intermediate.

Materials: A range of mediums – pencil, charcoal and soft pastels.
