Shaded Cubism – Geometric shapes
with artist Casey Temby (Ages 8-12)

Idea is to create a drawing the children are proud of and take home, whilst having fun creating It.

Students will firstly learn to draw with their eye, then use their creative brain to abstract it with techniques I can show them.

This practical tutor-led workshop will enliven student’s creativity.

The use of shading, tone and composition will be embraced to exude energy and emotion, as in the Cubist essence.

Step 1 Collaboration
A collaborative drawing by the students drawing geometric shapes and lines.

Step 2 Own drawing
Creating geometric forms by breaking things down and fracturing the objects using connecting lines and creating overlapping shapes.

Step 3 Shading
Teaching shading techniques to create shadows, tone, texture, definition and optional colour
