Paint & Sip
with Marika Oost

19th May 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$85

The ASC Paint & Sip is here with practising artist, Marika Oost !

Looking for something fun and relaxed to start off your Friday evening? Got a creative side or just at the beginning of your arts journey? Then this is for you!

Bring along a friend and be welcomed with a glass of bubbles and a cheese platter and enjoy an evening of painting. You will create your own pet portrait masterpiece to take and display at home.

We strive to provide workshops that foster creativity and comfort. New artists may have no experience with a brush, so our teacher is determined to provide a workshop that will effectively explain each of the components of the painting technique.

We want to help you bring out your inner artist. Even if painting classes are out of your comfort zone, we want you to have fun and feel relaxed!

All materials provided and a glass of bubbles and cheese platter on arrival, feel free to BYO.

Provided:
– Blank canvas
– Acrylic paints
– Brushes
– Table easel
– Paint palette
– Glass of wine & cheese

Please send a close up image of your pet so we can prepare a basic outline to get you started to: workshops@theartspacecollective.com

About Marika Oost
Marika Oost is an emerging artist new on the scene in WA. She is a multidisciplinary, self taught creative, inspired equally by her love of photography and the tactile beauty of rich buttery acrylics. Her personal art practice is abstract figurative in nature and is heavily layered and textured.

With a natural eye for found objects she likens herself to a bowerbird. Marika takes her inspiration from the natural world and adds a fascination with entropy into the relationship to explore and interpret the human condition.

She is an intuitive painter, her art being the very expression of her curious mind, with an energetic feel, often hinting at a darker edge. She describes herself as being in a constant state of growth and metamorphosis. Her current work is driven from deep personal introspection, human connectivity and consciousness with a good dash of quantum metaphysics thrown in for good measure.
