“Gyotaku” – Fish Printing & Kinobori
(Age 6+)

A day of Japanese traditions.

Gyotaku is a Japanese art form dating back to the 1800’s was originally used as a record of a fishermans catch “How Big?”

Students learn the traditional techniques of Gyotaku as well as some colourful modern styles.
Artworks will have an authentic feel when stamped with your very own handmade ‘chop’ (rubber stamp).

We will be decorating our very own Kinobori.

Carp Streamers are traditionally flown In Japan on May the 5th “Children’s Day” a holiday in honor of children, in the hope that they will have a good future, grow up health and strong.

Please bring a water bottle, nut-free lunch and don’t forget not to wear your best clothes!
