The incredible diversity of our Western Australian coastline is the inspiration for Helen Crowley and Rachel Coolican – the team behind Ranhouse Studio.
Cleverly curated, distinctive and eye-catching resin pieces make up the exhibition currently hanging at The Art Space Collective!
In an assortment of shapes and styles, the resin work is a reflection of the natural swirling azure blues, deep turquoises, beiges, golds and taupes of the coastal environments from Lancelin through Perth to Esperance, and including the tidal waters of the Kimberley region, as well as the salt lakes of Rottnest Island.
Coloured pigments are mixed with resin in order to create a fluid medium that is poured, swirled and turned using different pouring and layering techniques.
Varying the levels of transparency, as well as multiple layers of resin, add great depth to the abstract pieces.
Ranhouse Studio is based at The Art Space Collective, so you may also be lucky enough to see these two clever makers at work!
