Kids Art Club with ‘Strength Heroes’ Age 6-12 (8 weeks)

Fun and engaging after school art classes with a weekly dose of resilience
Does your child like to create and spending time with friends? Do you want them to grow their confidence, self-esteem and growth mindset?
This weekly club gives your child the opportunity to explore a new topic through art, STEM, movement and mindfulness. Perfect for children who love to work out how things work and have a go at new art techniques. Children are challenged to practice gratitude, try and make something great when things go wrong or don’t go to plan.
Fun and engaging, they won’t even realise they are getting a DOSE of resilience each week.

The art of confidence-Self-portrait on canvas
The art of friendship and teamwork-Creating a collage with input from others.
The art of friendship and teamwork-Finishing our collage with input from others.
The art of leadership -What are my strengths and how do I become a leader.
The art of trying-Drawing animals to scale
The art of curiosity -Clay work
The art of perspective-Watercolour with drawings.

Structure of our two-hour sessions
Arrival activity to awaken the creative
Welcome
Art activity – working on a project related to the theme.
Reflection – what did I do well? What am I grateful for?
DOSE of resilience (movement exercise)
STEM activity to explore problem solving, curiosity, communication and mistake making.

Price includes healthy afternoon tea, pick up from Scarborough Primary, visual diary, all supplies including use of art aprons and parent information sheets on tips for strengths parenting.
