Inkspots: Perserverence through Print Making (Ages 6+)

12th April 2022 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

$135

Is your child a keen creative? In this all day class printmaking workshop kids will be guided through the arts and crafts experience by one of Strength Heroes’ talented artists. They will learn new skills and let their creativity flow as they complete various beginner techniques such as Monotype and Drypoint. In the morning we will ask the natural world to inspire our ideas by inking and printing native leaves as monotype prints. This will give everyone a chance to get hands-on experience with the press. The unpredictability of the outcome will be discussed. We will then move into more personalised creativity by broadening concepts to include our own relationship to nature through drawing and mixed media. These ideas will be transferred onto a foam surface for drypoint where we will learn perseverance through process and the editioning of prints.
Your child will create a series of prints inspired by nature and the natural world that have personal significance as we explore our own creative language.
Not only will your child learn some new art skills, they will also explore how they can adopt a growth mindset and keep trying as they learn tricky skills and deal with unpredictable results of the printmaking process. We also give them tips and tricks to build their resilience to tackle problems, mistakes or bounce forward when things go wrong.
