Life Drawing Evening

Our regular awesome life-drawing sessions at The Art Space, held on a Thursday of every month in our eclectic gallery space!

This month we bring you a special class Dance & Draw with practicing artist Casey Temby!

Join artist Casey Temby for an untutored life drawing session with a female dancer as a model. At this session you will experience the interconnectedness between art, music and dance. The session comprises of timed gesture figure drawings with the challenge of translating movement into drawings. The focus will be expressive, fluid, rhythmic, flowing lines with poses ranging from 30 seconds to 20 minutes and topping it off, a small performance.

Music will be especially curated for the session with beautiful classical pieces from Swan Lake and Philip Glass to contemporary dreamlike lo-fi gentle music such as Sufjan Stevens.

Gesture drawing is a mindful practice as it connects you to what you are looking at, training your eye-hand coordination and freeing yourself of the expectation of a “perfect” drawing.

Description : A session of life drawing (in any medium, pencil, pastel, paint)
Supplied : Some easels & A3 boards, bulldog clips, charcoal and paper
Please bring : Preferred paper or drawing book or whatever you want to draw on

Please note that a nude model will be present.
